Fruit that lowers blood pressure

Blueberries can benefit people with high blood pressure.

As well as specific benefits for overall heart health, blueberries have been shown to hold significant benefits for people with high blood pressure.

The results, published by The Journals of Gerontology, Series A: Biological Sciences and Medical Sciences, found that consuming 200 grams of blueberries (about one punnet of our delicious berries) daily can improve blood vessel function and decrease systolic blood pressure.

The reason behind this improvement? The high levels of anthocyanins.

The research also showed that anthocyanins improve the function of endothelial cells, which line the inner surface of blood vessels helping flow and pressure.
